Wildlife - Dolphins playing under the bow, seals relaxing on rocky islands or rolling about in the water and a varied collection of sea birds can be experienced depending on the voyage taken. If you are really lucky you may even encounter Orca passing through.

Relax - Centre piece to most holidays is to sit back, kick your feet up, and unwind. Do as much or little as you like, let us know what you want your break away to be.

Sailing
– An old sea dog once said….“If the voyage is for the destination then go by power, if the destination is just part of the voyage then sail!”. Whether you have clocked up thousands of sea miles or are stepping out for the first time, the simple and pure experience when under sail is a holiday in itself. You can been involved to whatever degree you want, from commanding the helm & trimming sails, to sitting back relaxing, watching the world go by with a good book in hand (weather dependent!)

Swimming/Snorkelling - A favourite on warm sunny days. The golden beaches of the Able Tasman provide an idyllic setting, or just leap in from the boat with easy boarding ladders and fresh water hose off.

Fishing - A great way to start or end the day is feasting on your own fresh catch, or simply enjoy the fun of the chase with catch and release. As fishing can be a messy and/or tricky business there are a few restrictions on how and when we fish, so let us know if you would like to drop a line over the side so we can work it into the plan.

Venturing Ashore - Whether on the golden sands of the Abel Tasman National Park or exploring the varied coast of Durville island, venturing ashore to stretch your legs is a great way to enhance the whole experience. Lush forest, open grassy hills, there are some quite spectacular places to visit.

Boat Craft - If you’re new to the nautical experience, or want to brush up on some rusty skills, our skipper is RYA Yachtmaster (Ocean) qualified (UK) and has endless energy for sharing his experiences (enough to make the most ardent students eyes glaze over). Learn the difference between a Knot of speed and a knot of ropes, finding your way in the light and dark, and guidance from heavenly bodies using a sextant rather than a horoscope. If you are interested to learn a bit more and have any particular interest, let us know at the time of booking so we can be best prepared

Art & Craft - Tide and wind permitting, the Mapua waterfront offers a great collection of art, craft & food outlets. Golden Bay and D'urville Island also offer opportunity to sample local fair.

ACTIVITIES (what to see and do)
For those who have already been bitten by the Cruising bug and just love the freedom of being out on the water…. little explanation is needed here. For others who haven’t yet ventured out for a day or over night sailing experience and are wondering what it's all about, following is a little insight to whet your appetite:
